From navigating the challenges of being a newer professional to fostering connections within the community, Beth exemplifies what it means to be part of the Venture team. Read on to learn more about her story and her insights on teamwork, growth, and making every transaction seamless.

You are an escrow officer here at Venture. How did you get into the industry?

There’s a joke in our industry that everyone just “falls into” title and escrow, and for me, that’s partly true! I came from a retail management background, but my dad had been in the title industry for a long time, so I knew a little about it. Initially, I was exploring lending opportunities and started talking to lenders, using title connections to figure out which lending teams to approach. Along the way, I met an escrow manager who introduced me to what escrow is all about. I decided to take a chance, starting as an escrow backup assistant—a unique way to enter the field compared to the usual “I needed a job” story.

What challenges have you faced as a newer escrow officer, and how have you overcome them?

I’ve been in escrow for about four and a half years and here at Venture for a year. As a younger escrow officer, one of the biggest challenges has been building trust with clients and colleagues who have been in the industry much longer. I’ve overcome that by learning as much as I can and showing that I can “walk the walk” when it comes to delivering great service. I’m fortunate to have an incredible team behind me. While I may not always have every answer immediately, I’m upfront about my willingness to learn and rely on the collective expertise of my team to ensure the best outcomes.

What is your current focus, and how do you see your role evolving?

Right now, my focus is on building my desk and deepening my roots in the community. That means developing strong, lasting relationships with realtors, lenders, and title partners who align well with me. I aim to ensure that every transaction is smooth and positive for everyone involved. Looking ahead, I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring. Just as I was supported when I started, I’d love to help train and guide newer assistants, eventually growing into a leadership or mentoring role.

What is your favorite daily interaction with the team?

The energy in both our Nampa and Meridian offices is amazing. Everyone here is genuinely happy to be part of the team, whether focused on their work, helping a colleague, or sharing a laugh. Seeing how much we’ve grown as a company, even in a challenging market, is inspiring. I feel lucky to be surrounded by such a collaborative and supportive team—it makes every day exciting and rewarding.
