At Venture Title &; Escrow, we pride ourselves on having a team that not only excels in their roles but also goes above and beyond for their clients and colleagues. This month, we're excited to spotlight Scott Ryan, a Sales Executive who brings nearly two decades of experience and a passion for relationship-building to his work.
What drew you to Venture, and how has your experience in the title and escrow business shaped your role here?
Mark Tidd reached out to me, but what really sold me on joining Venture was the team. I had worked with many of them before, and when I heard about what Mark was building, it felt like a no-brainer. It was like coming back to something familiar but with a fresh, exciting twist. I’ve been in the title and escrow business for about 19 years now. Over the years, I’ve developed a real passion for connecting with people and helping them meet their needs. But being part of this team at Venture has reignited that passion in a way that makes the work feel more meaningful. It’s bigger than just a job—it’s about making a real difference together.
What do you enjoy most about your workday, and how do you approach building relationships in your role?
Mornings are definitely my favorite part of the day. I come in, grab a coffee, and check in with the escrow officers to see what’s on their agenda and what they need from me. That quick touchpoint helps us stay aligned and keeps things running smoothly. Building relationships is really what my job is all about. I spend my day meeting with real estate agents, lenders, and builders, making sure they’re connected with the right professionals. It’s about being a resource for them and helping make their transactions as seamless as possible. Having those regular check-ins and being available for whatever they need helps solidify those relationships over time.
How does the unique culture at Venture contribute to the team's success, and are there any moments that stand out to you as milestones in your time here?
The culture at Venture is something I truly love. Being a team member-owned company really sets us apart. That ownership mentality means everyone here has a stake in the success of the company, and it shows in how we approach our work. There’s no “that’s not my job” attitude—we all wear multiple hats and help each other out daily. It creates a strong, supportive team environment where we’re all invested in doing whatever it takes to succeed. And that success? It comes in wins every day, big and small. One standout moment for me was when we were able to connect some builders with a new development. Deals are never guaranteed, but it was a huge win for us and a step in the right direction. Wins like that are what make working here exciting and rewarding.
What advice would you give to someone new to the industry, and does that advice inform your own role here at Venture?
My advice for someone new to the industry is simple: do the right thing, day in and day out. Sales isn’t about instant results—it’s about building relationships, staying consistent, and trusting the process. It can take months before you see the payoff, but if you keep putting in the work and doing things the right way, the results will come. That same approach really informs how I operate here at Venture. It’s all about showing up consistently, being a resource for the team, and leading by example. I believe in supporting the people around me and doing whatever it takes to contribute to our collective success.
